The last 3 weeks in Hungary were amazing. I hardly even remembered to take a lot of pictures or anything. I was so wrapped up in the moment most of the time. The whole holiday was wonderful, I loved spending time with my parents and brothers, and aunts and uncles and cousins... I also loved shopping a little, a kind of luxury that we cannot afford to do in Italy. After Christmas there were a bung of sales everywhere. I found great deals on maternity clothes at C&A, H&M, NewYorker, Tesco etc. I didn't even go for maternity wear but rather elastic or empire waisted stuff. So all the things j can wear even after the baby.
Baby.
I gotta schedule my next visit tomorrow. My 20 weeks ultrasound will be about 3 weeks overdue. Oh well.
We cannot wait to find out the sex of our baby PolkaDot. I have been feeling it is a girl and most others tell me so as well...well, we shall see soon, hehe.
We got back very late on Sunday night and ever since we have been trying to get some kind of order in the house. The amount of stuff to unpack and put away was enormous. But it still makes me smile how much goodies we were able to bring back form Hungary. It should sustain me for a while. My mom and dad sent with us a bunch of walnuts, apples, cherry preserves, smoked sausages and paprika, peach jam and poppy seeds. Yum! I am especially excited about the massive amount of ground smoked paprika and the Hungarian seasonings because this last fall I had to be without them for a couple of months. I simply ran out. And let me tell you, there is NOTHING worse for a Hungarian woman than running out of paprika. NOTHING! You can't do ANYTHING!! You are shot in the foot! Every single Hungarian dish requires paprika. And when I'm pregnant that's all I want to eat. That's that.
We did a bunch of cleaning and laundry too today so I feel pretty tired.
So I better hit the sack. Tomorrow is the first day of school too. Needless to say Master Benjamin isn't too happy about this.
Massive amounts of Hungarian Christmas truffles called Szaloncukor.
Benjamin doing some writing practice this afternoon.
Dropping my brother and his fiancé off at the train station
Hooray for treasures from home! And I love the new look of the blog...maybe it's been a while since you did it, but I just now noticed?!?! ;-)
