basil and pesto
I have tried to grow basil several times. Every time: failure.
I either over-watered them, or kept them in the dark corner too much, either way, they all died a slow death.
I have a friend who threw a handful of basil seeds in a pot of soil and left the pot out on her balcony, just to find a big, bushy and luscious basil plant there in a few weeks.
Well, that's not me.
I kill plants, that is just what I do.
But my great desire still remains: to be able to grow some herbs.
We spent last weekend in Kankakee, IL in some friends' house. Tanya, the wife made the most delicious pesto I have ever had. She handed over the little herb book that she got the recipe from.
So I have it, and I am even gonna share the recipe, now I just have to figure out where I'm gonna get all that basil from.
best pesto recipe
3 cup packed fresh basil leaves
1/2 to 3/4 cup packed fresh parsley
3/4 cup grated parmesan or romano cheese
1/2 cup nuts (pine nuts, walnuts or cashews)
1/2 cup olive oil
3 to 6 cloves garlic
dash of black pepper
Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and mix until smooth.
That's it.

teeth whitening
who doesn't want white teeth? Now it is available for those too who don't feel like spending 50 dollars for whitening products or 2-300 dollars for a whitening procedure.
I found the "recipe" on Pinterest, so it must be good! :)
The hydrogen peroxide might sound frightening at first, but apparently that is what they use in whitening products.
Put a tiny bit of toothpaste into a small cup, mix in 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon hydrogen peroxide, and half a teaspoon water.
Thoroughly mix, then brush your teeth for 2 minutes. Do this once a week until you reach the desired result. After that only do the process once in every 1 or 2 month.

jokes :)
Finally! I have found some good ones in English. I like word jokes, twisting meanings and such. In Hungarian I know a ton of them.

PLAYWORLD on Fairlanes in Grandville.
Super fun! We went there with my friend this morning. Her little girl and Benjamin had a blast jumping in the bouncy house, riding around in little cars, playing with balls or climbing in huge and long tubes. There is an entrance fee of $5.95, but if you are planning to stay there for at least a few hours it is way worth it!

Baked Crab Rangoons (Gluten-free)
mmm... Scott has not been able to eat the fried crab rangoons in Chinese restaurants because of his allergy. So I decided to make him some.
I found a good recipe on tracysculinaryadventures.blogspot.com. It was really easy to make.... although I still have to learn how to do the little triangle bundles properly. :)
The dipping sauce.... I had it at a Chinese restaurant once and when we were leaving I asked the waitress is she knew what was in that glorious dipping sauce that they served with the dumplings. She told me it was only soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and scallions (green onions)!!
