A walk in old town

We went to church this morning. I felt soooo tired the whole time! Then we got home, made lunch, did dishes etc.... Then I just collapsed into bed. I didn't sleep, but my body felt soooo heavy.
So I was resting there for a while trying to figure out if I was getting sick or something.
Then the guys decided to go out for a walk. They persuaded me to go with them.
We went all over town and in there end we ended up in old town. I love love love that part of town, all the old building and the church from the 11th century!!! Deliciously old! :)

Getting a haircut

Thank you Signore Nicola for the cool haircut for Benjamin! :)

The mosquito shrimp

We were walking back from school and I saw this  t h i n g on the sidewalk.
- Benjamin! Look! What is that!
- Well, it looks like a mosquito. A biiiig giant mosquito!
- A mosquito! I rather think it is a  s h r i m p.
- A shrimp!! PAPA likes shrimp! Let's take it home for him to eat!!

Well, needless to say, we did not take the little shrimpy home for papa to eat. :)

Books

We rode to church today with our landlord and landlady and their family. All 9 of us squeezed in their minivan. It was fun!
In church I got a few fun books. First, a Gospel Manga! :) Manga is an uber-popular genre in Japan, but all over the world really. It is basically comics. I was super excited about this one, because I love Japanese manga (comics), and it is in Italian!! Easy Italian! So it is nice and easy to read.
Ma baratainkkal mentunk gyulibe. 9-en szuszakolodtunk be  kisbuszukba.
The other book, an Italian Bible. Love the front cover design!
A masik konyv: egy olasz nyelvu Biblia. Nagyon tetszik a borito!!
The third book: The story: Im browsing around in the church library (3 shelves of books) when all the sudden I see this one... a HUNGARIAN BOOK!! Wooow....what is it doing in here?
I ask Nicola, he says...Uuurrggg....I dont know....why dont you just keep it, Im pretty sure no one here reads in Hungarian :)  All you Hungarians who are reading this, you KNOW this book! We all do! Growing up we looked at these pictures so many times... Can't believe I own a copy now, yay!!!
A harmadik konyv: Igy tortent: Az imahaz konyvtaraban nezegetek (3 polcnyi konyv) es hirtelen megakad a szemem egy konyvon.... azonnal felismerem....az Evangeliumi Beszelo Kepek!!! Magyarul!!!! A kepek olzan megragadoak, sokat nezegettuk oket gyerekkent. :)

Running errands in Termoli

So. The day started out with a little confusion about our morning prayer meeting. Husband was "certain" about HAVING the prayer in the morning so we did the normal crazy morning routine. We dropped off Benjamin in kindergarten and made it in time to the office just to find our coworkers still in their pj's. :) Apparently the meeting was cancelled. Okay.
We walked back to the house because we had another hour before our bus was coming. I was sweating and tired and angry about losing precious time of the morning.
But then I remembered one of my New Years resolutions... #10 See the positive side of everything.
So
let's see the positive side of things:
1. We got some walking exercise done this morning. Yay! You gotta love that!
2. The office is only 10 minutes walk from our house and not more. (Could be 25 minutes or something)
3. Still had some time to charge my phone before catching the bus to Termoli. How nice!
4. I didn't say mean things to husband on our walk home from the office. Although my full-silence treatment was pretty expressive I think... Then when I cooled off a little from huffing up the hill I remembered Resolution #15 Humble yourself and apologize immediately
#16 Forgive freely over and over again
#20 Be kind!
#21 Be kind!!
So I went to him and bowed. And I bowed low. (Resolution #28)

This is us later in the day in Termoli. Had to go to the bank and run some other errands.
The cars are parked soooo tight
From all the running we got really hungry and had some lunch at a BAR. Here bars are not dives, but little buffets where you can get sandwiches, pizza by the slice, snacks, coffee and soft drinks.
Fries from the bag
Sweet little ride I spotted

We love our town

I love our little town! A serene and nice community. I love starting to recognize faces of people in the supermarkets and on the street. I'm learning the names of streets.
Nagyon szeretjuk kis városunkat. Egy békés es kedves közösség. Jo érzés felismerni arcokat a szupermarketben es az utcán.

This is a WWII memorial monument for the people who fought and died.

I don't feel shy anymore about hanging our laundry outside.

The market. They sell a bunch of things, mostly clothes, shoes, kitchen supplies and household items, beans and olives, that sort of stuff.
A piac. Sok mindent arulnak, főleg ruhát, cipőt, konyhai es háztartási árukat, száraz hüvelyeseket es olivabogyot, ilyesmiket.
